President angered by Rupavahini !
Angered by remarks made by international trade state minister Sujeewa Senasinghe during a programme of Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation, president Maithripala Sirisena has reprimanded its top officials, reports say.
Commenting on the disclosures of telephone conversations during the bond commission investigations, Senasinghe criticized the conduct of the Attorney General’s Department and questioned its lackadaisical attitude with regard to probes into the murders of Wasim Thajudeen and Lasantha Wickrematunga. The state minister also criticized the president, saying he was not showing interest. The president was growling at everything, he alleged.

After watching the programme, the president immediately telephoned SLRC chairman Ravi Jayawardena, only to find that he has gone abroad with permission from the media ministry. Calling other top officials, the president scolded them for having invited Senasinghe to the programme. Sources at media institutions say the president had behaved like a madman on the occasion.
