Women and children’s bureau covers up retired DIG’s child abuse matter

Lanka News Web previously reported about a retired DIG by the name Keerthi Silva of being accused of child sexual abuse. Reports say the women and children’s bureau is trying to cover up the investigation.

A young woman complained to the bureau that the senior policeman had sexually abused her for a long period when she was under age. It was revealed to the family and the matter was settled with her being given a house. The bureau is under pressure now from a top police official and several politicians.

The accused was seen attending the international police society day celebration on August 11. We ask the Police Department if it gets child abusers to celebrate such an important day.
