SLC demands bribe from SLBC

Sri Lanka Cricket has demanded in writing from Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation a payment if it is to be given broadcasting rights of the matches being played by the national team.

In a letter, SLC has asked the SLBC to pay Rs. 2.4 million if it was to have its own broadcasting of the matches, or Rs. 1.4 m if the broadcasts are carried out the way SLC wants.

Reports say a former commentator of the SLBC who is responsible for many acts of corruption and irregularities in the institution and SLC officials aiding him are behind this demand.

Their aim is to have this corrupt commentator to give match commentaries over SLBC.
