Omalpe Sobhitha Thero warns of ‘Pohottu’ bandits at fuel queues (VIDEO)

Date:

Islandwide fuel queues are hijacked by bandits loyal to the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP), warned Omalpe Sobhitha Thero, in what he described as ‘Pohottu Damarikayo,’ speaking to reporters yesterday (20).

“These fuel queues are so long that an end cannot be seen. These grow and the people are facing severe difficulties. There are bandits ruling almost every fuel queue. There have been reports that some bandits are taking over the authority of these queues or forcibly claiming ownership. The bandits who are directly involved in this are reportedly henchmen of the Pohottu Party, abusing state power. We have a question as to whether these bandits are involved in the queues all over the island under the blessings of the politicians in power.”
