High Court Dismisses Bribery Case Against Ajith Nivard Cabraal and Three Others

Date:

When the case was taken up today (10.12.2025) before High Court No. 6, the Counsel for the Bribery Commission informed the court that, in line with the submissions made by Mr. Dilan Ratnayake PC on behalf of Mr. Ajith Nivard Cabraal, the Commission wished to withdraw the indictments against all four accused. They further noted that damages amounting to Rs. 1.8 billion were being sought from the 1st Accused, Mr. Cabraal, alone.

Following these submissions, High Court Judge Mohomed Mihal considered the arguments presented by Mr. Ratnayake PC and the counsels representing the remaining accused. The Judge ordered that all cases against the accused be dismissed immediately and without conditions, and that all four individuals be discharged.

The submission made by Mr. Dilan Ratnayake PC has been attached.
