India says that they did not help GR to flee from the country

The High Commission of India in Colombo denies the allegations that India facilitated the departure of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Basil Rajapaksa.

In a tweet, the High Commission emphasized that the Government of India remains committed to the aspirations of the Sri Lankan people.

Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, his wife, several bodyguards, and others had left for the Maldives in a plane belonging to the Sri Lankan Air Force this morning. There had been media reports that the President and his team had gone to the Maldives with the full support of the Indian government.
