President expresses condolences over death of ex Chinese President

President Ranil Wickremesinghe yesterday (02) expressed his condolences on the passing of the former President of China, Jiang Zemin.

The Sri Lankan President visited the Chinese Embassy yesterday evening and signed the condolences book.

Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena and former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa also expressed their condolences on the passing of the ex Chinese Leader.

Zemin passed away at the age of 96 on Wednesday (30) in Shanghai, due to leukemia and organ failure, according to Xinhua news agency.

The Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka left a Social Media remark sincerely thanking the President and other Sri Lankan delegates for their deepest condolences and kindest messages over the passing of Zemin.
