Sri Lanka’s first green technology exhibition, NSBM Green Future Expo 2026, was officially inaugurated yesterday (18) at the NSBM Green University auditorium.
Secretary to the Ministry of Digital Economy Varuna Sri Dhanapala, who attended the opening ceremony as the Chief Guest, emphasised the importance of embracing modern technology and developing the skills needed to build Sri Lanka’s future.
Speaking at the event, Professor Thilini de Silva, Deputy Vice Chancellor – Academic of NSBM Green University, highlighted the university’s continued commitment to promoting sustainability, innovation and responsible technological development. She also outlined NSBM’s efforts to create a greener and more sustainable future through education, innovation and collaboration.
The three-day exhibition was officially launched by Anne Pathirana, Dean of the Faculty of Business at NSBM Green University. Meanwhile, Roshan Watawala, General Manager – Sales at MTV/MBC, spoke about the importance of connecting the younger generation with emerging technologies and future opportunities.
The opening ceremony was attended by senior representatives of participating organisations, along with a large number of school and university students. The exhibition aims to connect young people with new technologies, sustainable solutions, and future educational and career opportunities.
NSBM Green Future Expo 2026 is being held from September 18 to 20 at NSBM Green University, from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. each day. Through exhibition stalls, interactive displays and opportunities to engage with representatives from the industry and education sectors, the event provides students and visitors with an opportunity to explore technologies shaping the future and learn about emerging educational and career pathways.
