Cabinet Approves Rs. 30,000 Fertilizer Subsidy per Hectare for Maha Season

Cabinet has approved a fertilizer subsidy of Rs. 30,000 per hectare for paddy and other field crops cultivated during the 2026/2027 Maha season.

The subsidy will be provided for a maximum extent of two hectares per farmer.

The Cabinet proposal was presented by Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Lands and Irrigation K.D. Lal Kantha.

The Government has allocated an estimated Rs. 16 billion for the fertilizer subsidy programme for the upcoming Maha cultivation season.
