Shiranthi Rajapaksa Returns to Prison After Specialist Eye Appointment

Former First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa, who was taken to the Colombo National Eye Hospital this morning (09) for specialist medical attention, has been returned to prison custody.

Prison officials escorted Rajapaksa to the hospital due to an eye condition requiring further medical evaluation.

She had been examined by a medical specialist at the Prison Hospital yesterday (08), following which the doctor recommended that she be referred to the National Eye Hospital for a specialist consultation.

Acting on the recommendation, she was taken to the hospital this morning for further examination before being transferred back to prison custody.
