Litro Maintains Domestic Gas Prices Despite Rising Global Costs

November 01, Colombo (LNW): Litro Gas Lanka has decided against increasing the price of domestic liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders for November 2026, offering some relief to households amid continued pressure from international energy markets and fluctuations in foreign exchange rates.

The state-run gas vendor confirmed that consumers will continue to pay the existing rates throughout the month, despite unfavourable movements in global LPG prices and currency-related costs.

The decision is expected to ease some of the financial pressure on households that depend on bottled gas for their daily cooking requirements, particularly at a time when the cost of essential goods and services remains a concern for consumers.

For customers in the Colombo District, the price of a standard 12.5kg cylinder will remain at Rs. 4,365. Meanwhile, the 5kg cylinder will continue to sell for Rs. 1,750, while the smaller 2.3kg cylinder will be available at Rs. 815.

Litro said the decision to maintain the existing prices was taken with consumer affordability in mind, allowing households to avoid an additional expense during November.
