SLPP to Launch Island wide Village Level Meetings Starting Tomorrow – Johnston Fernando

November 01, Colombo (LNW): The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) will launch its island wide “village-to-village” constituency meeting series tomorrow, November 2, 2026, starting from the Colombo District, under the guidance of the party’s National Organizer, MP Namal Rajapaksa.

SLPP Operations Head Johnston Fernando announced the initiative during a meeting with SLPP constituency organizers in the Colombo District, stating that these village-level branch meetings will be held across the island five days a week.

Speaking at the meeting, Fernando stated that the campaign aims to educate the public on the unfulfilled promises and alleged corruption of the current government.

He instructed party organizers to repeatedly highlight specific financial irregularities, including the controversial release of 323 containers, the coal tender fraud, the Central Bank hacking incident, and funds transferred into incorrect accounts.

He further directed organizers to inform voters about election promises made regarding tax exemptions, specifically the total removal of taxes on essential goods, healthcare, and school supplies, which he claimed the administration has failed to deliver.
