HNI Manoj Cooray Appointed Deputy Treasurer of UNP

High Net Worth Individual (HNI) Manoj Cooray has been appointed Deputy Treasurer of the United National Party (UNP) according to party sources.

Cooray, a seasoned financial services professional, previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Sampath Securities and as a Director of the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka (BOI). Now in semi-retirement, he remains a longstanding stalwart of the UNP and a loyal supporter of former President Ranil Wickremesinghe.

In his new role, Cooray is expected to spearhead a subscription-based membership drive targeting professionals, entrepreneurs and young executives. The initiative is aimed at broadening the party’s membership base, strengthening its organisational network and reconnecting the UNP with a wider cross-section of the professional community.

His appointment comes as the party looks to strengthen its organisational structures and build a more extensive network of members and supporters.
