Motor Traffic Department Reopens Online Appointment System to Ease Public Congestion

November 02, Colombo (LNW): The Department of Motor Traffic (DMT) has announced the resumption of its online appointment booking service, giving the public a more convenient way to access selected services at its Narahenpita headquarters.

According to the department, the facility will be available again from today, allowing customers to secure appointments through its official online portal at https://dmtappointments.dmt.gov.lk.

The online platform is designed to simplify access to several services, including the registration of newly acquired vehicles, transfers of vehicle ownership and assistance with technical matters relating to motor vehicles.

The move is expected to make visits to the department more organised while reducing the inconvenience caused by lengthy queues and overcrowding, particularly during busy morning hours.

By introducing advance reservations, the DMT aims to improve the flow of customers and enable members of the public to plan their visits without having to spend unnecessary time waiting at its premises.

The department has encouraged those requiring the relevant services to make use of the online booking facility, which is intended to streamline administrative procedures and improve the overall experience for motorists and vehicle owners.
