SJB accepts Prime Minister’s Challenge – massive rally to be held in Salgadu Stadium next month

The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) stated that it will accept the challenge made by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa at the Salgadu Stadium in Anuradhapura to show that they can gain power without any conspiracies.

Speaking to a briefing today (10), SJB MP S.M. Marikkar noted an election should be held to find out who has the mandate and challenged the government to hold the provincial council election, which was dragged in for many years, if it can.

Suggesting that Prime Minister Rajapaksa is fully aware of where the mandate would be upon a provincial council election, Marikkar added that it is in this backdrop is the government postponing the provincial council election citing various circumstances.

The SJB MP added that the SJB too can set foot on the road, the sand and anywhere necessary, revealing that his party will be holding a massive rally in the Salgadu Stadium next month to demonstrate the people’s power.
