We have no problem in the country’s economy: Johnston Fernando

Date:

The current government has no problem with the country’s economy and only a temporary dollar crisis has occurred, said Chief Organiser of the Ruling Party Minister Johnston Fernando, speaking to a women’s authority board of the SLPP held yesterday (27).

“We have no problem with the economy of this country. We have only one problem left. We have the dollar problem. Dear mother and father, we recalled 168,000 patrons overseas. So the foreign exchange we received stopped. Now, nearly 200,000 have left for foreign countries. 100,000 more will be sent. Opportunities are being opened in powerful countries of the world for Sri Lankans to go and work. This is a temporary problem,” he said.
