Thirteen Arrested for Illegal Treasure Hunting at Temple in Dompe

November 07, Colombo (LNW):Thirteen suspects were arrested for allegedly conducting an illegal treasure hunt on temple grounds in Mapitigama, Dompe. Police reported that the individuals were found digging for treasure within the temple premises, and a variety of excavation equipment was seized during the operation. Authorities also confiscated a car, a van, and two three-wheelers used by the suspects.

The individuals, aged between 22 and 58, hail from various areas including Heiantuduwa, Siambalape, Malwana, Imbulgoda, Dompe, Kegalle, Homagama, Kaduwela, Kirindivela, Ambanwala, and Hanwella. Investigations are ongoing as police work to uncover further details surrounding the illegal excavation activities.
