The preferential vote results for the Galle District in the 2024 General Election have been released, showing key performances from candidates of the National People’s Power (NPP), Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), and Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP).
National People’s Power (NPP):
- Nalin Hewage – 274,707 votes
- Rathna Gamage – 113,719 votes
- Nayanathara Premathilake – 82,058 votes
- Nishantha Samaraweera – 76,677 votes
- Thilanka Rukmal – 74,143 votes
- Nishantha Perera – 71,549 votes
- T.K. Jayasundara – 58,761 votes
Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB):
- Gayantha Karunathilake – 36,093 votes (SJB’s only seat in the district)
Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP):
- Chanaka Sampath – 8,447 votes (SLPP’s only seat in the district)
In the Galle District, NPP’s Nalin Hewage secured the highest number of preferential votes. Gayantha Karunathilake of the SJB won the party’s only seat, while Chanaka Sampath of SLPP captured the district’s sole seat for his party.
