SLFP leaves government

The Parliamentary group of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) has decided to leave the government and act as an independent group.

Accordingly, the 14 MPs representing the SLFP will be serving in Parliament as independent members.

Coincided with the SLFP’s decision, state ministers representing the party, Priyankara Jayaratne, Lasantha Alagiyawanna and Duminda Dissanayake have resigned from their ministerial portfolios.
