The Health Staff were also seen endorsing the all-island token strike against the government today (28).
Accordingly, health staff including nurses of the Colombo National Hospital organised a protest in front of the hospital. A group of doctors also joined the protest.
The protesters then were seen marching towards the Ministry of Health and accompanied by a number of other health trade unions.
As the anti-government protest grew in numbers the protesters demanded the stepping down of the government.
