Another fuel queue-related death reported

A person waiting in a fuel queue in Kalutara North has reportedly collapsed and died today (28).

The victim, 36 and a resident of Mahaheenatiyangala, Kalutara South, had arrived in the fuel station at about 7 am in the morning to collect kerosene and had collapsed in the queue at about 1 pm in the afternoon.

His death was pronounced after he was hospitalised. His body is currently kept in the Nagoda Hospital.

Fuel queue-related deaths have been common in Sri Lanka since the emergence of the current fuel crisis.
