SSP in charge of the Kegalle Division K.B. Keerthiratne who had ordered the shooting at a protest in Rambukkana has been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) tonight (28).
The shooting was carried out on April 19 and a 41-year old father of two was killed. Three more had sustained serious injuries and among the wounded is a 15-year old child.
The Kegalle Magistrate Court ordered arrest yesterday and SSP Keerthiratne had admitted himself to the Police Hospital in Narahenpita to avoid the arrest.
Accordingly, the arrest was made in the hospital.
