All countries in the world will be ready to help Sri Lanka if a Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) led government is formed, said former President Maithripala Sirisena, addressing a May Day rally held in Polonnaruwa yesterday (01).
The former President claimed that he had met with all the ambassadors during the last two weeks and that they were not filling to aid Sri Lanka due to the current regime’s corruption.
“In my time every country in the world helped us, no country turned into an enemy or became angry before us. Even today, if we form a government, all the countries of the world will help. I have been in discussions with ambassadors for the past two-to-three weeks. When I told them that I wanted to meet them, all of them came to my house. All of them said that this regime is corrupt and therefore, they cannot aid nor help towards these issues. So, in such a backdrop, it is a question asked by the people whether the government should carry or step down to elect a suitable government for the people.”
