Leader of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake said the National People’s Power (NPP) is ready to take the responsibility of ending the current political crisis and anarchy and moving the country towards a new path.
Accordingly, the JVP/NPP Leader reveals the following conditions;
01. Current President Gotabaya Rajapaksa must step down from his position immediately
02. The Speaker should be serving as the acting President for a temporary period
03. A new government backed by a new mandate must be formed within six months
(a) Giving the NPP the opportunity to elect an interim interim government in Parliament without hindrance, with the NPP having the primary responsibility
(b) If otherwise, an interim government can be formed for a short period of time, with the members of the NPP not taking a part of it but serving the role of the Opposition.
Currently, only three MPs represent the NPP.
