The Samagi Jana Balawegaya, which had announced yesterday (11) morning that it was ready to form a government if President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa steps down, has again issued a statement easing its stance by last night.
It is said that they are ready to form a government under the president if he promised to step down within a specified time.
Harin Fernando had stated that he would leave the party if they did not take action to form a government. The new announcement was made by party general secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara as he and a group of other MPs were preparing to leave the party.
