Samagi Jana Balawegaya has announced that it will nominate MP Rohini Kaviratne for the vacant post of Deputy Speaker of Parliament.
Meanwhile, Hambantota District Parliamentarian Ajith Rajapaksa from the SLPP will be nominated for the post, the General Secretary of the party Sagara Kariyawasam has stated to the media.
Accordingly, if candidates from both parties are nominated, a vote will have to be taken in the Parliament on the morning of May 17.
