PM Mahinda Rajapaksa will not step down from his position – Ven. Murutthettuwe Ananda Thera (VIDEO)

Date:

The Chancellor of the University of Colombo, Ven. Murutthettuwe Ananda Thera has stated that Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa will not step down and that he too wants to know who wanted to remove him from office.

“There is a rumor spreading in the country that this Prime Minister is resigning. But the Prime Minister came to this temple and met me today. We asked him if there was some kind of a plan or anything. But he does not even know about anything like that!

This is an old question that everyone is talking about. We want to know who is forcing this Prime Minister to resign? The President does is forcing him, neither anybody nor the people. We would like to know who is forcing him to resign. But we say the Prime Minister will not resign no matter who exerts pressure, threats, or blames. If he resigns, he will tell us.”

Ven. Murutthettuwe Ananda Thera was speaking at a media briefing held by the Prime Minister after his visit to the Narahenpita Abhayaramaya yesterday (03).
