Home gardening mandatory for public servants on leave on Fridays

Date:

The government action of calling for public servants only four days a week to slash government expenditure is currently underway. A number of public bodies including the Labour Department have been given leave on Fridays and only those employed in essential services are being called for duty.

Meanwhile, a decision has been taken to make it mandatory for public servants on leave on Fridays to home gardening, as a solution to the upcoming food crisis.

Public servants orienting themselves for the mission are to be registered with the Department of Agriculture and by doing so, home gardening is to be implemented through a specific programme.

A decision has also been made to provide lands for public servants who do not have the land required for cultivation.
