Death Toll Rises to 486; Over 170,000 Displaced by Severe Weather

The Disaster Management Center (DMC) reports that the death toll from the adverse weather conditions experienced across the country in recent days has risen to 486 as of 7:00 p.m. today.

According to the DMC, 341 individuals remain missing.

The latest update further shows that 171,778 people from 51,023 families have been displaced and are currently housed in 1,231 safety centres established nationwide.
