Ruling Party to hold disciplinary inquiry into former State Minister Premajayantha

Date:

A disciplinary inquiry will be held into the actions of MP Susil Premajayantha, who was recently dismissed from his state ministerial portfolio over what it appeared to be a blatant criticism against the government.

The holding of a disciplinary inquiry against the MP has been confirmed by Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Secretary General MP Sagara Kariyawasam.

Accordingly, a decision will be taken in this regard at the next political bureau meeting, he added.

Premajayantha had severely criticised the government with the media during a visit to the Delkanda market and his dismissal was announced the very next day at the order of the President.

The Ruling Party SLPP, however, went on claiming that there is no connection between Premajayantha’s dismissal and his criticism against the government.
