The third session of the 9th Parliament is scheduled to be commenced today (03) under the chairmanship of President Ranil Wickramasinghe.
Accordingly, the new parliament will be inaugurated at 10.30 this morning and the president will present the policy statement of the new government.
However, according to the instructions of President Ranil Wickramasinghe, only a simple and elegant ceremony will be held and no salutes or motorcades will be held, the Communication Department of the Parliament states.
