March 16, Colombo (LNW): Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Central, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, North-western and Uva provinces after 2.00 pm, the Department of Meteorology said today (16).
A few showers may occur in Eastern Province.
Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces and in Galle and Matara districts during the early hours of the morning.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimise damages caused by temporary localised strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

Showers may occur at a few places in the sea areas off the coasts extending from Pottuvil to Trincomalee via Batticaloa. Showers or thundershowers are likely at a few places in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Hambantota via Colombo and Galle during the evening or night.
Winds:
Winds will be easterly in direction. Wind speed will be (20-30) kmph.
State of Sea:
The sea areas around the island will be slight.
