PHIs to go on sick leave tomorrow

Date:

The Public Health Inspectors’ Association of Sri Lanka has decided to go on sick leave tomorrow, following a conclusion made by the Union’s Working Committee and the Executive Committee.

After the staggering revelation made by Upul Rohana, the Union Chief, that ‘Thriposha,’ a food of nutrient combinations given to children, containing carcinogenic substances was distributed to the public, he has been subject to an operation of repression by the health authorities, the Union claimed.

It is in this backdrop has the PHI’s Association decided to go on sick leave, in a move to protest against the attempt of suppression instead of solving the matter, it added.
