Consumer rights activists in Sri Lanka today (25) made a shocking revelation showing that imported bread flour is contaminated with foreign agents of biological origin that appear to be weevils and worms.
A group of civil activists visited the Sri Lanka Standards Institute today to complain about the substandard imported bread flour, and revealed that the Sri Lanka Standards Institute possesses no authority to probe the matter.
The sample contaminated with these agents has also been taken to the Standards Institute as evidence.
Speaking to reporters, President of the Restaurant Owners’ Association, Consumer Rights Activist Asela Sampath elaborated on the discussion they had with the authorities at the Standards Institute.
