Court drops PTA-based charges against IUSF Convener Wasantha Mudalige!

Colombo (LNW): The Colombo Magistrate has concluded that there are no substantive evidence to further detain Wasantha Mudalige, Convener of the Inter-University Students’ Federation (IUSF), under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA).

Accordingly, Colombo Chief Magistrate Prasanna Alwis today (31) ordered that the charges against Mudalige under the PTA be dropped.

The IUSF Convener was arrested under the PTA in connection with a series of events involving the ‘Aragalaya’ people’s struggle on August 18, 2022.
