Colombo (LNW): The first school term of the year 2023 will commence today (27).
Accordingly, the first school term of the year for in government and government-approved schools will commences on Monday, and schools will remain open for the first term this year until April 05, 2023.
School students will be given a holiday from April 05 to April 16, 2023 for upcoming Sinhala and Tamil New Year, the Education Ministry announced.
Subject Minister Premjayanth said school terms were extended in 2020 and 2021 to cover syllabuses due to various disruptions such as the Covid-19 pandemic. Students will be admitted to Grade 01, and to Grade 06 based on the results of the Scholarship examination, he added.
