A retired doctor living in Piliyandala who was arrested during an investigation into the discovery of a hand grenade at the All Saints’ Church in Borella on January 11 has been found behind the bomb incident at the Bellanwila Temple, the Ministry of Public Defense said.
Accordingly, it has been revealed that the doctor was involved in the three bomb incidents that took place at the Borella Church, a private hospital in Narahenpita, and the Bellanwila Temple.
Police have arrested a man in the Ranna area for allegedly handing over the bombs after investigations revealed that the suspect was from Embilipitiya.
Accordingly, the two persons arrested in Embilipitiya and Ranna have been in close contact with the Piliyandala doctor and the person arrested in Embilipitiya and the doctor have made several confessions before the Magistrate, the Ministry said.
