The Education Ministry has released an official notice regarding the start of the third phase of the first school term for the 2023 academic year. All government and government-approved private schools will begin the third phase on Monday, June 12.
To provide context, the first phase of the first school term began on March 27 and concluded on April 4. This was followed by the Sinhala & Tamil New Year holiday, which lasted from April 5 to April 16.
Following the holiday, the second phase of the first school term began on April 17 and continued until the start of the G.C.E. Ordinary Level examination on May 29. The examination concluded on June 8.
