Trade Minister classifies wheat flour as a “Specified Good”

Colombo (LNW): An extraordinary gazette has been issued classifying wheat flour as a “Specified Food.”

The gazette was signed by Minister of Trade, Commerce and Food Security Nalin Fernando, and will be in effect from midnight of June 16, 2023.

The move comes in in consideration of wheat flour as an essential commodity, after consulting the Consumer Affairs Authority.
