Jordan forces arrest seven Sri Lankans for attempting to illegally enter Israel

Colombo (LNW): The Jordanian Army seized seven Sri Lankan national who attempted to illegally enter Israel on Wednesday (16), according to Jordanian Army’s official website.

These Sri Lankans were arrested by border forces and handed over to the relevant authorities, according to the report.

The Jordanian-Israel border has witnessed several instances in which infiltration took place over the years by people coming from various countries including Africa, Asia and Turkey seeking employment in Israel, and the forces continue to deal firmly to crack down such attempts.

52 people illegally infiltrated from Jordan last year and 23 did so in the first quarter of 2023, Israeli authorities said.
