Colombo (LNW): A silent protest was held in front of the United Nations Office in Sri Lanka this (21) afternoon demanding justice for the missing persons.

The event was organised by the ‘Families of the Disappeared’ Collective and was attended by civil activists, family members of the disappeared and other concerned individuals.

The silent protest was held under the slogan “15 Years Without Justice. The Criminals Are Still At Large. Where’s Our 11 Children Who Were Made To Disappear?

It has been 15 years since these 11 children went missing, and their families are still waiting for justice. An initial demonstration took place calling for action, and a petition was carried out close to the United Nations office in Tummulla, Colombo.

Subsequent to the protest, several petitions were carried out at several places in Colombo this morning. Meanwhile, several other silent protests were held in front of the foreign embassies in Colombo, and petitions were handed over.
