A resident of Gonapinuwala, Balapitiya has reportedly been killed by fire. The victim is a woman Police sergeant.
Her husband is accused of murdering her by pouring petrol onto her and sparking fire, following a heated exchange between the spouses.
The suspect is ex military, reports added.
The victim, who was admitted to the hospital, has succumbed to her burn-injuries and was pronounced dead thereafter.
The victim’s husband is currently in remand custody.
