Consumer Affairs Authority to Recruit Police Officers for Special Investigation Unit

Minister of Trade, Commerce, and Food Security, Nalin Fernando, revealed plans to enlist police officers to bolster the special investigation unit of the Consumer Affairs Authority. This move is aimed at enhancing the authority’s capacity to address consumer-related issues effectively.

Furthermore, the Minister also emphasized that measures will be implemented to ensure the safety and security of Consumer Affairs Authority officers during their operations and raids, indicating the government’s commitment to safeguarding their activities.
