SL’s official reserve assets rise by 0.6% in October 2023

Colombo (LNW): A noteworthy surge has been reported by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) in Sri Lanka’s official reserve assets, signifying a 0.6 per cent increase from September 2023 to October 2023.

During this period, Sri Lanka’s official reserve assets saw a substantial uptick, soaring to US$ 3,562 million in October 2023 from the preceding US$ 3,540 million in September 2023.

It is worth highlighting that this boost encompasses a swap facility amounting to approximately US$ 1.3 billion from the People’s Bank of China, albeit with specific conditions governing its utilisation, according to the CBSL report.
