Family of four missing in Balangoda landslide found dead

Colombo (LNW): The bodies of a family of four, previously reported missing after a landslide in Balangoda, were recovered this (14) afternoon.

The search operation, conducted with the help of disaster management officials, Sri Lanka Army personnel, and residents, led to the discovery of the bodies.

The family, comprising a married couple and their two daughters, went missing when a landslide buried their house in the Gavaranhena area.

Police investigations were initiated to determine their whereabouts.

The landslide damaged two houses, prompting the evacuation of other residents to safer locations.
