Sri Lanka to set world record on fuel price in two weeks (VIDEO)

Date:

Sri Lanka is set to reveal the highest price per litre of fuel in the world in the next two weeks, claimed Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Tissa Attanayake, speaking to a briefing held today (17).

The current regime, which had ridiculed and discarded the Fuel Price Formula introduced by the Good Governance regime and promised that it would provide relief to the people, is now proposing a fuel price formula in the face of the energy crisis, Attanayake emphasised.

The SJB MP went on saying that the government, which had collected the taxes without giving the people the benefit of the oil price drop that existed during the Covid period, is now yammering about a fuel price hike in the midst of fluctuations in the global market.

Accordingly, should a fuel price hike occur, all charges for similar service may surge, Attanayake warned.
