Bridge Collapse Disrupts Traffic on Embilitipitya – Middeniya Main Road

February 05, Colombo (LNW): Traffic on the Embilitipitya – Middeniya main road came to a halt as the Hulanda Oya bridge collapsed earlier this morning (05 Feb.). The incident occurred while a logging truck was traversing the bridge, causing its collapse.

Fortunately, no casualties have been reported at this time. Authorities have advised motorists to seek alternative routes until the necessary assessments and repairs are completed on the affected bridge. Efforts are underway to address the situation and restore traffic flow in the area.
