US President Biden Congratulates President Dissanayake, Looks Forward to Strengthening Indo-Pacific Ties

September 28, Colombo (LNW): US President Joe Biden congratulated President Anura Kumara Dissanayake on his election victory, expressing eagerness to collaborate with Sri Lanka in promoting peace, security, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region.

In a message posted on X, President Biden acknowledged the significance of Dissanayake’s election, noting that it was conducted in a free, fair, and peaceful manner, a source of pride for the people of Sri Lanka.

“The people of Sri Lanka chose you as their president in a free, fair, and peaceful election of which they are justifiably proud,” Biden stated. He added, “I look forward to working with you to advance peace, security, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific.”
