The preferential vote results for the Hambantota District in the 2024 General Election have been released, showcasing strong performances by candidates from the National People’s Power (NPP), Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), and Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP).
Hambantota District Preferential Vote Results:
National People’s Power (NPP):
- Nihal Galappaththi: 125,983 votes
- Athula Hewage: 73,198 votes
- Saliya Madarasinghe: 65,969 votes
- Aravinda Vitharana: 48,807 votes
- Prabha Senarath: 42,249 votes
Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB):
- Dilip Wedaarachchi: 23,514 votes (SJB’s only seat in the district)
Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP):
- D.V. Chanaka: 16,546 votes (SLPP’s only seat in the district)
