The draft Prevention of Terrorism Act (Amended) has been approved by a majority of 51 votes in the second reading in Parliament today (22).
The draft bill has been passed with amendments during the Committee stage.
At the end of the Parliamentary debate, Tamil National Alliance (TNA) MP M.A. Sumanthiran called for a vote and accordingly 86 votes were cast in favour and 35 in opposition.
